Weirdly connects going way back.
Macaroon coming from maccaroni (maccherone) which probably comes Late Greek μάκαρ - "food made with barley" but also "blessed" - related to the goddess Macaria and the fact the food was used at funerals.
The Macarena comes from a Spanish female name meaning "happy or blessed" probably from same Greek source.

Ahh
If that was bruuno's meaning, that is not the case when I look in the mirror. Though my wanne-be basketball-playing kid of a self sadly wanted different.

The coconut bit is the important part for me.
(As opposed to almond flour)

Isn't is a semi-crisp biscuit based on shredded coconut?
That being said, I've never seen anything resembling it in shops or restaurants of countries where coconuts profligate.
Ask Knoblerone - he's a jet-setting man of the world and knows everything. Probably gets one served to him with a dead posh cocktail in first class lounges.

It is, but it can be a couple of basic kinds and was wondering which the two the word meant to WHOers.
(without giving prompts by mentioning the different ingredients.)

bruu
I know I can always count on you but...
Do you mean the English 18th century - "macaroni" - "a dandy or fop" - a gentleman who made too many trips to Europe and loved its fashion. (As evidenced in the meant to be insulting song "Yankee Doodle" - "stuck a feather in his cap and called it macaroni"
Or the Italian "maccherone" - "blockhead, fool" - essentially dumb as paste (pasta).
Or another insult I don't know.
